You can whip up a quick flower for a hair clip with this spiral flower. All it takes is a strand of fabric, fold in half, sew and pull the thread a little, then wrap around in a spiral to create this quick and simple flower. It's a great flower to make with scrap fabric.
If you have any leftover fabric from other projects, use them to make more spiral flowers.
What you will need:
Step 1: Cut 1 rectangular piece of fabric about 15 inches long x 2 inches wide. (Cut it longer and wider for a bigger flower)
Then fold in half.
Step 2: Sew from one end of the fabric to the other end, creating a tube.
Then pull the thread a little.
Step 3: Start layering by wrapping the fabric around spirally. This helps to create some volume.
Step 4: To accessorize, use a button, a bead, a gemstone, or a pearl... and glue to the center of the flower.
Step 5: Cut out a circle piece of felt, apply glue, then attach to the bottom of the flower.
Step 6: For the final step, glue your hair clip onto the felt.
